SPEEDWAY ROARS BACK TO LEICESTER

LEICESTER have been given the green light to stage a grassroots event with restricted crowd numbers.

And they’ve wasted no time in arranging the return leg of their challenge match with Scunthorpe at National Development League level for Sunday week, September 13 (5.30).

The price will be the same as Scunthorpe which is £15 adults to include a programme – there will be a 50p handling fee from paypal – children under 16 go free with a contact tracing adult.

Delighted Leicester co-promoter Stewart Dickson said: “This really is great news for everyone at the club and for British Speedway in general with another track announcing fixtures.

“We are hoping this will be a prelude to more meetings before the end of October and of course we need to ensure it runs smoothly.

“Scunthorpe have set the template and I was hugely impressed with what they did last Monday. All appropriate measures were in place and followed by the book and I expect the same to happen with this.

“It’s an opportunity, finally, for supporters to come along and enjoy competitive racing for the first time since last year. We are delighted and excited.

“As a club we would like to thank Mark Lucas on Health and Safety and Karen Hudson for all their invaluable assistance along with the good people at Leicester City Council."

Tickets are expected to go on sale from 9am on Saturday (September 5) and fans are urged to get theirs quickly. The Leicester website leicesterspeedway.com/ticketoffice is the place to go.
